Paxton fan, Mandy, wrote in to suggest that the line in the chorus should be "Somebody else's dead" instead of "somebody else's day". The lyrics published in the Tom Paxton Anthology music book say "day" but perhaps some will find more meaning with the alternative. Whatever works for you!
