(832 Hwy 101 is our physical street address. BUT, the United States Postal Service doesn't deliver mail to street addresses in Port Orford, Oregon. Got that? They don't deliver! I didn't think that was legal but apparently it's common in small rural communities. They pay someone to drive to all the rural mailboxes but won't pay for a mailman to walk around the town! Your postal dollars at play. But I digress. By putting our business Post Office Box number, 49, on the line with our street address, everybody is happy. UPS, Fedex, etc deliver to the street address at 832 Hwy 101 and the US mail goes to the box 49. Well, maybe everyone isn't happy - I'm not happy that I have to keep giving this longwinded explanation and that I pay the same postal fees (PLUS a box rental!) for less service than someone in a larger community. I've written to the government about this but their polite, lengthy answer translates (very) loosely as "tough luck.")
